FAQs About ADR-Hazardous Goods Transport

All ADR deliveries must have the correct documentation as detailed in the ADR regulations. This will include the UN number, the proper shipping name of the goods, the hazard class, Packing Group (e.g., I, II, or III), package details (including the number and description of packages, and the total quantity of each dangerous good, and the consigner and the consignee. Other necessary information could include tunnel restrictions codes. Please contact us if you need advice on your ADR documentation.

Yes, we are able to transport Limited Quantity (LQ) goods, provided they are packaged to ADR guidelines. This typically means that they are in small containers, in boxed pallets, with total weight not exceeding 30kg gross mass. They should also be marked with a white-and-back diamond LQ mark. Not at the moment, our storage warehouses are BRC certified for food, rather than hazardous goods.

ADR stands for, “”Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par route” (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).

An ADR licence is a legal requirement for transporting hazardous goods. ADR drivers have been trained and passed an ADR training test, which means they can handle hazardous goods safely and understand all the necessary safety and emergency procedures. ADR HGV lorries are required to carry safety equipment and must be marked accordingly. 

There are 9 classes of hazardous goods under ADR regulations these are:
