Pallet distribution is the most efficient way to transport goods in bulk. Goods are loaded onto standardised pallets, which are then taken to their destination. Pallets are quick to load and unload, and they are the industry standard method for moving goods.
At a basic level, goods are put on a pallet and then taken where they need to go. Pallet delivery may be done by a business’s own lorry, a third-party logistics provider or a pallet distribution network such as InvoFuflilment’s partner Palletforce.
Pallet delivery services operate around the clock, so turnaround times can be quick. If your pallet deliveries have set times and destinations, it can save time and money to set up a service level agreement or a rolling contract with a pallet distribution provider so that you are not paying for a premium for next-day service.
Pallet distribution costs will vary according to the type and number of pallets being transported, the distance travelled and whether there is any time sensitivity. Next day deliveries and named day deliveries are charged at a premium. Certain areas may incur surcharges, such as Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, London and Cornwall.
It is usually more cost-effective for businesses that need daily or weekly deliveries to have a contract with a distribution partner. We can offer flexible contracts and competitive prices on half and full load deliveries across the UK.
Invo Fulfilment use the latest logistics technology to track the journey of every pallet. We can provide detailed lot tracking and daily stock reports, so that you can keep tabs on what has been delivered and where. Our digital dashboards sync with our warehouse and driver systems to offer full supply chain visibility for each pallet that we deliver.
